"The last film produced by the Film Institute of the National University of the Litoral before its permanent closure, Monopolies reaffirms the enduring presence of modernist approaches and critical perspectives over the decades. This short film brings together various techniques of self-reflexivity to expose the ravages of capitalism and raise awareness among the working class, calling on them to take up the active struggle. Monopolies places a radical emphasis on highlighting relations of domination and their impact on the working class, which it seeks to mobilise through a critical and powerful discourse."
