In 1810 occupied Spain, a wounded young rider gallops to summon aid against Napoleon's troops. Taken in at a castle, he is nursed by the lady of the house and falls under her spell while recovering his health. His forgotten fiancée tracks him down and begs the proud lady to give her man back. Repentant, the young soldier decides to return to her fiancée, although too late, as the betrayed girl dies in his arms.
